SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Duluth Police on Wednesday night arrested the suspect in an armed robbery in Superior.
Officers from the Superior Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery at a business in the area of 28th Street and Tower Avenue around 5:45 p-m.
The suspect robbed the store and also a 68 year old female customer who was shocked by an electric weapon device.
After checking security camera footage, the vehicle driven by the suspect was identified.
About 9:36 p-m an officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a stop near the Belknap Viaduct.
The driver fled and led Superior officers on short pursuit that was terminated at the foot of the Blatnik Bridge.
The suspect continued into Duluth and was apprehended by Minnesota law enforcement agencies.
An investigation shows the suspect shoplifted from another business in Superior and may have committed an earlier robbery in Duluth.
Superior Police thank neighboring law enforcement partners for their assistance in apprehending the suspect and commend local businesses for the security cameras that helped to identify the suspect’s vehicle.
