DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Fire Department was called to a nine unit apartment building in the 1100 block of East 3rd Street at 10:30 p-m Saturday.
Smoke was seen coming from the back of the building and an enclosed stairwell.
The tenants had evacuated but during a search of the building, firefighters found five cats in three different apartments.
No people or pets were injured in the fire but one tenant was displaced due to water in their unit.
Damage was estimated at 80 thousand dollars and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
