Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The investigation continues after a woman was assaulted during a home invasion over the weekend. Duluth Police Lieutenant Mike Ceynowa of the department’s major crimes unit says the incident happened just after midnight Sunday morning in the 26-hundred block of West Fourth Street. The suspect forced their way into the home and demanded money and jewelry. They then assaulted a woman in the home, badly bruising and lacerating her face. Because the assailant was wearing a mask, there’s no description to work from, however the victim believes they were male. Lieutenant Ceynowa says at this time he believes this was a random act of violence. Investigators are currently examining prior criminal patterns. Lieutenant Ceynowa adds that incidents like this are very rare in Duluth and there have been no other incidents like it reported recently in the neighborhood. Anyone with more information is asked to contact Duluth police.
