DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - A new study called "Workforce Housing Needs In Duluth" shows that the job market is growing faster than the availability of quality housing stock. The study shows that the city has the potential to support the development of 4400 housing units in the form of single or multi-family new construction, rehabilitating existing housing and income based or higher end market rate rentals. The study also showed that Duluth has a large supply of older homes but many would not appeal to younger home buyers. The Duluth Economic Development Authority and the Duluth Housing Redevelopment Authority commissioned the study that was done by Maxfield Research Incorporated. A copy of the study can be found on the city's website duluthmn.gov
