ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota unemployment rate was up a tenth of a percent to a seasonally adjusted 4.8 percent in February according to figures released by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Employers cut about 100 jobs in February and that combined with a revised gain of 800 jobs in January, brought total job growth in the state over the past year to 44,714, a growth rate of 1.6 percent compared to a U-S growth rate of 1.5 percent during that period. Employment in the Duluth-Superior Metro area was up 0.8 percent in the past year.
