UNDATED (KDAL) - The 2014 County Health Rankings report released Wednesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, shows 3 of the 4 northeast Minnesota counties rank in the bottom 12 of the 87 counties in the state. The report looks at a wide array of issues to determine the general health of residents in the counties. St. Louis County ranks number 75 in the state, Carlton County is number 78 and Lake County is ranked at 82. Cook County is at the other end of the scale and ranks 28th. Louise Anderson, the Director of the Carlton-Cook-Lake-St. Louis Community Health Board, says the report highlights the health issues in the area that need to be addressed including obesity and tobacco use.
