DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Duluth Fire Department is continuing the Red Flag warning for Park Point Beaches until at least 10 a-m on Friday. Strong winds and high waves have increased the risk of dangerous rip currents along the lake side of Park Point and life guards are not on duty. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Department of Health has issued a "Water Contact Not Recommended" advisory for the former New Duluth Boat Club beach at 15th Street on the harbor side of the Point. Elevated E. coli bacteria levels were identified from water samples collected on Wednesday. That indicates the possible presence of fecal contamination. Get updated information at MNBeaches.org
