DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Department of Health has issued "Water Contact Not Recommended" advisories at several beaches in Duluth and up the north shore of Lake Superior. The advisories have been posted at Agate Bay beach in Two Harbors, the 20th Street/Hearding Island Canal beach on the harbor side of Park Point in Duluth, the Paradise Beach north of Kadunce Creek, the Durfee Creek Area Beach about 5.5 miles east of Grand Marais, Burlington Bay Beach in Two Harbors, the French River Beach north of Duluth and the Lakewalk Beach in Duluth. The advisories were issued for elevated E. coli bacteria levels from water collected on Monday following the heavy rains over the weekend. The beaches will be resampled on Tuesday and updated information can be found at MnBeaches.org
