Duluth, MN (KDAL) - This story proves citizen patrols can be an effective tool in crime fighting. The Duluth Police Department says Kyle Lee Davis faces multiple charges. According to investigators, a watchful member of the Lincoln Park Citizen Patrol alerted officers early Monday afternoon after they spotted suspicious activity in the area of 11th Avenue West and Second Street. The 19-year old Davis was located shortly afterwards and found to be in possession of stolen mail. Less than two hours later, after Davis was issued a ticket for misdemeanor theft, officers were called to the 200 block of North 12th Avenue West for a garage burglary that appeared to have happened late that morning. Items were stolen from two vehicles inside the building. Within 40 minutes another alert resident alerted officers to someone looking inside their vehicle. That suspect, Kyle Lee Davis, was located nearby with items from the garage burglary and vehicle prowls in his possession.
