Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate after they say a 53 year-old Oliver man committed suicide as deputies were about to execute a search warrant at his home. According to deputies, they arrived at the residence Friday evening, just after 6:00, to conduct the warrant connected to an ongoing investigation. When no-one answered the door, investigators entered the house and discovered the homeowner in a darkened room downstairs, lying on a bed with a pillow covering his head. When deputies ordered the man to show his hands, a shot was fired. After back-up officers arrived on the scene, investigators re-entered the home and found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. As soon as more details are released we’ll pass them on to you.
