Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Just how good are those D-T-A bus drivers you see navigating Twin Ports roads? You’re going to find out this weekend as the Duluth Transit Authority hosts the 27th annual ‘Minnesota State Bus Roadeo’ at the Heritage Sports Center. The friendly competition is broken up into two categories, including the large-bus and small-bus divisions. More than 30 drivers, including D-T-A drivers, will navigate their rigs around 12 different obstacles. They will be scored on both accuracy and timing. Heath Hickok of the D-T-A says the competition demonstrates the safe driving skills D-T-A drivers use on a daily basis. He adds that they’re, “...pleased to host this Minnesota tradition that emphasizes safety in public-transit service.”The Grand Champion in both divisions will represent the Land of the 10,000 lakes at the national bus roadeo competitions next year. Duluth last hosted the ‘roadeo’ six years ago.
