SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) - On Thursday night a Courtesy Cab driver in Superior was stabbed multiple times in the chest and hands in an attempted robbery by a fare in the 2600 block of North 28th Street. Police say the fare was initially picked up around 8 p-m at Lady Vi's at 628 Tower Avenue. It is not known at this time if any money was taken in the incident. The cab driver was able to disarm the suspect and was taken to a hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The suspect in the incident, identified through physical evidence and witnesses, was located and taken into custody a few hours later in the 700 block of Tower Avenue. The 21 year old from Duluth is facing attempted murder and armed robbery charges. His first court appearance will be on Monday.
