St. Paul, MN (MNN) - Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon will not seek re-election as Governor Dayton's running mate this fall. She announced Tuesday morning at the capitol that she plans to retire in January 2015 after more than 25 years of public service to the state of Minnesota and city of Duluth. Prettner Solon said in a statement, "above all, my work on behalf of Minnesota's aging population has been rewarding and productive." Governor Dayton thanked her for her invaluable service to the state and pledged to continue supporting the important initiatives she championed as Minnesota's lieutenant governor.
