UNDATED (KDAL) - The Minnesota Health Department says flu activity has now become widespread in the state and one hospital chain is restricting visitors to help reduce the spread of influenza. Fairview is temporarily banning visitors younger than five and screening others for flu like symptoms at its hospitals in Hibbing, Princeton, Wyoming and the Twin Cities. In Wisconsin, a dramatic increase in hospitalizations due to the flu has been seen over the past week. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention encourages everyone 6 months and older to get a flu shot.
