DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has issued a Winter Storm Watch for northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin on Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. The watch area is east of a line from Kabetogama Lake to near Pine City and includes Hibbing, the Twin Ports, Hinckley, Ashland and Hayward. There is a possibility of snow becoming heavy at times and accumulating over 8 inches with northwest winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour on Thursday night. That would mean snow covered and slippery roads along with considerable blowing and drifting snow especially in open rural areas. The path of this storm is not yet certain and any slight change in direction could mean big differences in snow totals. Keep updated with the latest forecast on 610 KDAL.
