DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - After six rounds of voting on Monday night, Duluth City Councilors named Joel Sipress to fill the remaining term of Patrick Boyle in the 2nd District. Boyle resigned last month after winning a special election for a spot on the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners. Sipress, an instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, was one of ten people who filed applications for the council seat. Also at the Council meeting Monday night, a resolution was passed urging the Minnesota legislature to raise the minimum wage in the state to at least 9.50 and hour.
