DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The South St. Louis Soil and Water Conservation District has received a 186 thousand dollar Legacy Grant to develop a plan to manage and treat storm water runoff at the Miller Hill Mall. The grant funds a partnership between the Conservation District, the Simon Property Group, which operates the mall, and Barr Engineering. The parking area and roofs at the Miller Mall amounts to 66 acres of impervious surface that allows for runoff into Miller Creek. The comprehensive plan will guide improvements to the area that will manage how the storm water travels across the property and help regulate the temperature of the water in the creek.
