DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - On August 1st, a tougher state law took effect in Minnesota in the continuing fight against the sale of synthetic drugs. The law, sponsored by Duluth Representative Erik Simonson and Senator Roger Reinert, grants the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy greater authority to identify and ban the sale of certain synthetic drugs even when formulas are changed to attempt to avoid prosecution. On Wednesday, Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Lucinda Jesson held a news conference in Duluth to announce the launch of a new website designed to present accurate information about the dangers and risks posed by synthetic drugs and how those affected can reach out for help. KnowTheDangers.com will provide resources for parents, youth, educators and health care professionals concerning synthetic drugs of all types.
