Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Authorities have identified the Cottage Grove, Wisconsin man whose body was pulled from Lake Namekagon Sunday afternoon. The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office says Gerald Buss’ body was discovered in about 10 feet of water just after noon. The 69 year-old was fishing with a friend Friday when he fell into the water. A seat cushion was thrown to Buss, but investigators say he wasn’t able to maintain his grip. Several agencies including dive teams and water scent dogs assisted in the three-day long search. The Bayfield County Coroner says the cause of death was accidental cold water drowning. Buss was not wearing a life jacket at the time.
