DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Crew members who served aboard the Navy's USS Duluth LPD-6 will be in Duluth for a reunion this week. About 70 sailors are expected to attend the event and many will be in Duluth for the first time. The reunion is being held from Thursday through Sunday at the Suites Hotel. The ship served in Vietnam and numerous other missions including Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. The ship was commissioned in 1965 and was mothballed in Hawaii in 2005. There have been two Navy ships to bear the Duluth name, the other was a light cruiser that served in World War Two.
