DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Duluth Mayor Don Ness flipped a switch to re-light the marquee of the iconic NorShor Theater on Tuesday and kicked off a local fundraising campaign to restore and reopen the last of the city's classic vaudeville and movie theaters. The city of Duluth is seeking five million dollars in state bonding money to help in the restoration. Work could begin next spring if the needed funding is in place. The theater would become a center to serve regional arts organizations. Construction will be overseen by developer Sherman Associates and the Duluth Playhouse will manage the facility.
