UNDATED (KDAL) - A measure designed to protect Minnesota residents from having utilities turn the heat off in the cold winter months is now in effect. The "Cold Weather Rule" runs from mid October to mid April. However, customers do need to contact their utility provider in advance to work out a payment arrangement in order to prevent having their primary heating source disconnected.
