DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Life Safety Division of the Duluth Fire Department has launched an effort to discover, and bring into compliance, illegal rentals in the city. An illegal rental would consist of any residence with tenants and no existing rental license. Housing inspectors will be conducting investigations into suspected illegal rentals and then taking appropriate action to bring properties into compliance with the Duluth Housing Code. Renters should ensure that owners have a proper rental license before signing a lease agreement and report suspected illegal rentals to the Life Safety Division of the Fire Department.
