Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Superior police are investigating the cause of an injury rollover crash. According to Superior Police Sergeant John Nowicki, the crash happened just after 10:00 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Tower Avenue and North 21st Street when a pickup truck crossed the centerline, left the road and slammed into a tree after passing through the intersection. The collision forced the truck to roll over onto its side and into a light pole in the nearby McDonald’s parking lot. It also collided with two parked vehicles, damaging both. The driver of the truck, who, at last check, had not been identified, was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The extent of their injuries wasn’t known, however, Sergeant Nowicki says when first responders arrived, he was already out of the vehicle. Nowicki says they don’t know why the truck left the road in the first place, but the driver told officers there was a mechanical issue prior to the crash.
