MADISON, WI (KDAL) - The Wisconsin DNR is closing Zone 6 to wolf hunting effective at 2 p-m Thursday. That will leave Zone 3 as the only open zone for hunting and trapping wolves in the state. Zone 3 is located in parts of seven counties including Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer and Price in north central Wisconsin. The wolf harvest in that zone is also approaching the quota. Hunters are reminded to check with the DNR before heading out. The statewide goal was set at 251 wolves for the 2013 season and, as of Wednesday, 197 have been taken.
