INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MN (KDAL) - A recently completed aerial survey of moose in Voyageurs National Park shows the estimated population to be 46 moose similar to the last survey that was taken in 2011. Biologists conclude that the park moose population is relatively stable especially given the rapid decline seen in northeastern Minnesota. Park biologists caution that large scale factors such as climate change and disease outbreaks will continue to threaten the long term viability of the isolated moose population in the park and continued monitoring is warranted.
