CABLE, WI (KDAL) - The lack of a governor didn't prevent more than 200 outdoor writers and other invitees from descending on Cable and Lake Namakagon for the Wisconsin Indianhead's Governor's Fishing Opener this weekend. That's a record turnout, according to Cable Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director James Bolen. He said attendees were treated to shooting at a gun range, photos with the Jack Link's Sasquatch and exceptional fishing. In fact, Bolen said it was some of the best fishing he's seen in the 48 years they've hosted the opener. Governor Scott Walker was a late scratch from the event, as conditions at the local airport were detrimental on Friday.
