MADISON, WI (KDAL) - Most lakes in the northern one-third of Wisconsin remained locked in ice for today's fishing opener. DNR officials are encouraging anglers north of about Hwy. 64 to stick to streams and rivers as most boat landings and docks are still ensconced in ice and fisheries crews have been unable to stock trout in some areas due to the extended cold weather. Governor Scott Walker had been scheduled to fish the opener in Cable but canceled due to poor conditions at the airport there.
