SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) - Rush, the beagle puppy saved in a Superior fire Friday evening, is doing well but will be monitored for another day or so, according to the Superior Fire Department. The structure fire at 1311 N 23rd Street started in the basement. Fire crews were able to respond quickly and put it out before it spread. Crews found the four-month-old Rush on the basement floor and administered oxygen, after which he regained consciousness. Authorities say the first 36 hours after smoke inhalation is critical, so Rush will remain under veterinary care until about noon Monday.
