DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Sandra Kay Couture pleaded guilty Friday in St. Louis County court to first-degree witness tampering and first-degree arson, after she admitted to investigators she was attempting to quiet witnesses who could help put away Joseph John Couture for the 2000 suspected murder of Trina Langenbrunner. Sandra Couture, 40 of Cloquet, admitted to setting fire to the property of a family member of a witness, destroying the home and killing two dogs. She said she was acting at the direction of Joseph Couture. A plea agreement was reached that would recommend Sandra Couture be put away for 104 months for the tampering charge, and 84 months for the arson charge. The sentences would be served concurrently.
