UNDATED (KDAL) - A foot or more of snow remains on the ground over much of northern Minnesota allowing the snowmobiling season to extend into April for the first time in many years. State trails will remain open while snow conditions permit but grant-in-aid trails will close for the season on April 1st. The DNR says late season snowmobilers need to be aware of changing conditions including bare spots, flowing water and exposed rocks.
