ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Department of Health is urging everyone to be screened for diabetes since about 25 percent that have the disease don't even know it. The number of people with diabetes in Minnesota has doubled between 1994 and 2010 and now includes nearly 300,000 people. You are more likely to develop diabetes as you get older and the most common risk factors are family history of the disease and obesity. This is Diabetes Alert Day and more information can be found at diabetes.org
