DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - A suspect in an armed robbery that happened in an apartment in the 300 block of North Lake Avenue last April has finally been arrested and jailed by Duluth Police. A warrant was issued for 21 year old Solomon Byrd following the robbery and he was discovered by police on September 1st of last year but evaded arrest by breaking free from officers as they attempted to handcuff him. After receiving information that Byrd was in an apartment on East 2nd Street several days later, Byrd again fled as police closed in by jumping out a first floor window. He may have left the area for a time, but this past Tuesday, Byrd was traced to a residence on North 28th Avenue West. As police were setting up a perimeter around the area, Byrd was seen jumping off a second story deck and was taken into custody. He is now in the St. Louis County Jail on a felony warrant for 1st degree aggravated robbery.
