WASHINGTON, D.C. (KDAL) - The Brainerd woman who was found guilty of illegally downloading music has lost her appeal to the U-S Supreme Court.  The justices let stand the Court of Appeals ruling in 2011 that Jammie Thomas-Rasset has to pay 222 thousand dollars to record companies for downloading the music illegally from the internet.  She claimed the payment was excessive since the music companies settled with most of the people accused of the crime for 35 hundred dollars.
