DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Local college student Steven Hendrickson has been awarded the Mike Colalillo Medal of Honor Scholarship.  The 750 dollar scholarship is awarded annually by the Veterans Memorial Hall program of the St. Louis County Historical Society.  It honors World War Two veterans and Medal of Honor recipient Mike Colalillo of Duluth.  The application process involves writing a short paper about local military history.  Hendrickson wrote about his grandfather, a Marine Corps veteran in World War Two who was captured by the Japanese on Wake Island and was held as a prisoner of war for 3 and a half years.
