DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The St. Louis County Recorder's Office will begin accepting marriage license applications for same sex couples beginning on July 26th. That will allow couples to fulfill the mandatory five day waiting period and be able to marry on August 1st which is the day the Minnesota Freedom to Marry law takes effect. The cost of a marriage license, set by state statute, is 115 dollars. Couples who complete 12 hours of premarital counseling get a reduced price of 40 dollars.
