SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) - While the City of Superior works with the Federal Rail Administration to extend a "Quiet Zone" designation, train horns will be sounded at the rail crossing on North 28th Street between Banks and Elmira Avenues. The "Quiet Zone" expired on Monday and since a petition to extend it had not been approved, trains are required to sound their horns at the intersection. The other 18 "Quiet Zones" in Superior are not affected.
