DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Lake Superior Zoo has announced the death of one of its wolves. "Cohen" who was on loan from the Wildlife Science Center in Columbus, Minnesota was euthanized after emergency exploratory surgery on Tuesday. Zoo staff had observed "Cohen" becoming increasingly lethargic over several days and was taken to the Animal Care Center for evaluation. The zoo veterinarian Dr. Louise Beyea, says the surgery showed the wolf had a serious and deadly infection in his abdominal cavity that was the result of a ruptured abscess.
