DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - State Representative Erik Simonson of Duluth says the local school district will get a sizable increase in funding from Minnesota in 2014 and 2015 in the budget passed during the last session of the legislature. In 2014, Simonson says Duluth will receive a total of 88.7 million dollars in per pupil funding which is up over 765 thousand dollars. In 2015, it goes to 91.6 million dollars, an increase of 4.5 million. The State Budget increases in Minnesota totals 485 million for K-12 schools.
