Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The suspect in last week’s shooting in Duluth is free today following his release from the St. Louis County Jail. The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office says the 70 year-old was released pending further investigation into the shooting, which happened Thursday afternoon at a home in the 200 block of East 6th Street. Prosecutors say that, by law, the suspect needed to be seen by a judge by Monday—following an extension over the weekend. However, because their investigation is ongoing, he was released without charges. Police officers say when they arrived on the scene they found 48 year-old Betty Jean Gribsby with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
