Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Investigators are asking for the public’s help to determine how an out-of-state man, whose skeletal remains were found in the Iron Range last month, ended up in our area. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, an individual out on a walk spotted the remains of Barnabas R. Kalina Junior May 11th next to a mine pit outside of McKinley. Authorities were able to identify the New York man through dental x-rays, which also matched up with personal belongings found at the site. How Kalina died isn’t known however there were no signs of trauma. The 56 year-old was reported missing in the fall of 2011. Anyone with more info about Kalina is asked to call the sheriff's office in Virginia.
