DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Sam Maida, the CEO of the Lake Superior Zoological Society, has announced that he will step down to make way for new leadership. Maida has been with the zoo for 20 years and helped to grow the Zoological Society into a substantial non-profit organization that manages the zoo and all its assets for the City of Duluth. Mike Polzin, the Zoological Society's Board President, says "we are thankful for Sam's leadership" and added "he will be remembered for his dedication and hard work during his tenure." The board will form a search committee to chose a successor and will work with Maida to determine his departure date.
