DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The U-S Coast Guard is expecting a busy period of recreational boating traffic during the Tall Ship Festival this week. The Coast Guard will be conducting various patrol activities including enforcing a 100 yard safety zone around the Tall Ships and watching for boaters driving under the influence and operating in an unsafe manner. The 100 yard safety zone is in effect while the Tall Ships are underway or moored. The Coast Guard also urges boaters and passengers to wear an approved life jacket, be aware of weather and water conditions and observe all safety and security zones while on the water.
