ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The world renowned bear researcher from Ely, Lynn Rogers, is meeting with Governor Mark Dayton today to discuss the DNR's decision not to renew his permit. The agency has given Rogers until the first of August to remove radio collars from bears in the area. Rogers says his research of black bears in the wild is the only study of its kind in the world. The DNR says the project has not yielded much published research.
