WASHINGTON, D.C. (KDAL) - U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar has teamed up with two other Senators to introduce bipartisan legislation to help fight synthetic drugs. The bill would make it easier to prosecute the sale and distribution of the "analogues" that are substantially similar to current illegal drugs. Current laws make it difficult to prosecute new synthetic drugs since they are often labeled "not for human consumption" despite their well-known use as recreational drugs with dangerous effects. The legislation would make it easier to prove that synthetic drugs are intended for consumption making it easier to prosecute.
