DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Several candidates for Duluth City Council and School Board jumped into the race at the filing deadline Tuesday. For City Council in the 4th District the incumbent Garry Krause will face Howie Hanson. There are five candidates running for the two at-large seats on the council: Zack Filipovich, Barbara Russ, Ray Sandman, Ryan Stauber and Ray Whiteledge. Filing for the Duluth School Board in District 1 is Rosie Loeffler-Kemp and Jospeh Matthes. In the 4th District, incumbent Art Johnson faces challenges from David Bolgrien and Justin Perpich. Former board member Harry Welty is running for the at-large seat against Annie Harala, Joshua Bixby and Henry Banks. The Primary Election will be held on September 10th with the General Election on November 5th.
