Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Local leaders took advantage of an opportunity Tuesday afternoon to take a closer look at the flood recovery with Senator Al Franken. The senator sat in on a roundtable discussion at Ecolibrium3 in West Duluth to look at the lessons learned from the historic floods of June 2012. The democrat tells K-D-A-L News he was impressed with how different agencies in Carlton and St. Louis Counties worked hand-in-hand to respond. He says in the initial fallout he was astounded to see how quickly and efficiently the community responded. The question now is, how did FEMA respond. And what was the effect of emergency funding being available for local governments, but not for homeowners.
