Duluth, MN (KDAL) - A member of Minnesota’s congressional delegation will be in Duluth today. Senator Al Franken will join Duluth Mayor Don Ness to discuss flood recovery efforts. The democrat will also be briefed on what lessons officials have learned to improve disaster response in the wake of the historic June 2012 floods.In related news, Senator Franken says former chief executive of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Marge Andersonm a (quote) “…trailblazer...who fought to preserve the Ojibwe culture while—at the same time—pushing to advance the progress of her people.” (end quote) The democrat says he’s grateful to have known Marge and proud to work with her. Anderson died Saturday. She was 81.
