UNDATED (KDAL) - The deer harvest for the 2012 season in Minnesota was 184,649, down 4 percent from the previous year according to figures released by the DNR. Among the reasons for the decline was the fact that hunters had fewer chances to harvest anterless deer since the 2012 season was designed to help stabilize that population. Management designations for the 2013 deer permit areas will be determined once new density estimates are compared to established population goals. Complete information on the 2012 deer hunting harvest will be online in the coming weeks at mndnr.gov/deer.
