Madison, WI (KDAL) - It was nine hours of debate and then a vote pretty much along party lines as the Wisconsin State Senate passed and sent to the Assembly a mining reform bill that would lead the way to a taconite mine and processing plant in Northeastern Wisconsin. Democrats opposed the matter saying the bill moved the process of permitting the mine in favor of the company and would lead to damage to the environment.
The bill is said to be a favorite of Governor Scott Walker.
